What We Believe

We hold to the historic teachings of Christian orthodoxy as articulated in the Apostles Creed. We also are in fellowship with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec. For an extended document on what the CBOQ believes, click here. 

We believe that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and we understand this to mean that the whole Bible is inspired in that holy men of God “were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21) to write the very words of Scripture. 

We believe in one God (Mark 12:29) eternally existing (John 1:1-4) in three persons (2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 John 5:7-8), namely Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Apostles Creed

We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. 
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell.

The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (world wide) church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
